Next generation infrared detectors
Speaker: Dr Andy Marshall (University of Lancaster)
Date: Wednesday 17 February 2016
Time: 15:00
Venue: N/3.28
High performance infrared detectors have historically been based on simple, bulk materials, requiring cooling to cryogenic temperatures. We have researched quantum and nano structured materials and devices in the pursuit of redefining the achievable performance limits. This seminar will cover our work on barrier, superlattice and nanowire detectors based on III-V materials, from growth to characterisation.
