Shropshire Astronomy 30th Anniversary 2011

In May 2011 the society had a social / get-together to celebrate 30 years of the Shropshire Astronomical Society and its predecessor societies in the Shrewsbury area. The event took place at two venues with some members having a meal at the pub in the village of rodington and others turning up for a cake cutting and some short presentations at the Rodington Village Hall.

The cake was cut for us by Mandy Bailey, our Chair, who laid into the fine icing with a glee that would have frightened Alfrfed Hitchcock. She is now on the committee of the Royal Astronomical Society - another reason to celebrate. One of those happy occasions when we could all have a cake and eat it - not even crumbs left over.

Some people managed to retain some decorum and had their photos taken without pulling a silly face.
