The delegate programme will include a banquet at Cardiff City Hall including entertainment, and a wine reception at the Cardiff Museum which will give delegates an opportunity to see the excellent art collection there.

In addition a partner programme will be designed to include visits to some places of interest in the area. We will also have a section giving details of more general entertainments and venues available in Cardiff at the time of the conference, and our helpdesk will give assistance to anyone wishing to buy tickets.

  • Monday 3rd September 2007 - Cardiff Bay & Penarth
    Image of Cardiff Bay Here is an opportunity to enjoy a gentle stroll around the beautiful waterfront of Cardiff Bay. You will find out how what used to be the greatest coal exporting port in the world has been transformed into a centre for tourism and leisure. Your visit will include; Cardiff Bay Visitors Centre and the largest architectural model in Europe; The Norwegian Church where famous childrens author Roald Dahl was baptised; The Senedd - see inside the Welsh Parliament building; The Millennium Centre - home of Welsh National Opera. Refreshments will be taken at one of the waterside restaurants within Mermaid Quay. You will then be taken by coach to Penarth to see the barrage and lock gates controlling Cardiff Bay. We'll finish with a seaside drive through the lovely Victorian town of Penarth, Cardiff's "Garden by the sea" enjoying views of the pier and the mysterious islands of Flat Holm and Steep Holm.

  • Tuesday 4th September 2007 - Cardiff Castle & City Centre
    Image of Cardiff Castle Enjoy a guided tour of Cardiff's central attractions including the gothic splendour of Cardiff Castle. Your guide will show you some of the city's lovely Victorian shopping arcades. You can enjoy splendid views of the Millennium Stadium - home to Welsh Rugby and much much more. You can take a walk through beautiful Bute Park, exploring Cardiff's 2000 year history as you go. Your final destination will be Cardiff's magnificent Civic Centre - a collection of wonderful buildings designed to give Cardiff a public architecture to rival any city in the world. The buildings are in white Portland stone, which was also used to build St Paul's Cathedral in London. We'll see the Law Courts, City Hall, The National Museum of Wales, Alexandra Gardens and the University buildings.

  • Wednesday 5th September 2007 - The Museum Of Welsh Life
    Image of the Museum of Welsh Life Just a short drive from the centre of Cardiff at St. Fagan's is the famous Museum of Welsh Life. Here buildings of historic significance have been taken from all over Wales and rebuilt brick by brick in a lovely parkland setting; a chapel, a church, a cock pit, several farm houses, shops, terraced houses, Celtic village - even a house of the future. You will also have an opportunity to visit St. Fagans Castle, an Elizabethan manor house with beautiful formal gardens.
