  • Official Languagae:
The official language of the conference is English, which should be used for all printed material, presentations and open discussions.

  • Information for Session Chairs:
Session Chairs should arrive at the session room at least 10 minutes prior to the start of the session and should check the attendance and preparedness of all speakers in the session according to the schedule.

It is very important that the sessions run to schedule. Chairs must ensure that speakers do not take up more than their allotted time. The session Chair should warn each speaker when they have 2 minutes in which to finish. The Chair should ask speakers to conclude promptly if they begin to over-run, in which case the period set aside for questions should be shortened so that the next speaker begins on time.

Chairs should pause the session or organise additional discussions if any speakers are absent. This will ensure that the parallel sessions run according to the published common schedule. Delegates can then reliably attend presentations from different sessions.

  • Information for Speakers:
    • Oral presentations:
Each oral session room will contain a computer equipped with a projector. Presenters should only use the session room computer for their presentation.

Speakers should submit their presentation on a USB-Memory-Stick with the presentation files in ppt(Powerpoint) format. Speakers should load and preview their presentations on the conference computers in advance.

All speakers should be present at least 10minutes before the start of the session, and inform the session chairman of their arrival.

It is very important for the smooth running of the programme that speakers do not take more than the allocated time for their presentation. The conference runs parallel sessions and it will assist all delegates in planning the programme of talks they wish to see if all sessions run according to the common published schedule.

The duration of talks is as follows:

Plenary:  60 minutes (50 minute presentation plus 10 minutes for discussion)
Invited keynote:  30 minutes (25 minute presentation plus 5 minutes for discussion)
Contributed:  20 minutes (15 minute presentation plus 5 minutes for discussion)

    • Poster Sessions:
There will be a two-hour poster session following on immediately after the oral sessions on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. These sessions will take place in the Lower Hall. All poster presentations have been allocated to one of these evening sessions.

Each poster will have a numbered display area 2m high and 1m wide. Materials necessary to mount posters to the display boards will be available.

Posters should be set up by 16.00hrs on the day of the allocated session and taken down again before noon the following day. The poster sessions will run 17:00 - 19:00 each day. During this time, the presenters are expected to make themselves available at the display board.

Posters not taken down by noon on the day following the session will be removed by conference staff.
