Cardiff is easily accessible by all modes of transport.

BY ROAD

M4 MotorwayStarting in London and passing near London Heathrow Airport (LHR), the M4 motorway runs through the north of Cardiff. Junctions 29 to 33 will take you into the city. Access by road from the Midlands and the North and West of England is via the M5, which meets the M4 at Almondsbury, north of Bristol. Traffic speed is monitored by cameras between junctions 14 and 18 and also through the plaza adjoining the toll booths on the Welsh side of the Severn Crossing.

Parking in the centre of the city is controlled by a combination of metred parking, voucher parking and car parks. It may be possible to park on the street in outlying areas.

Cardiff Wales International AirportCardiff Wales International Airport (CWL) is situated 12 miles west of Cardiff. Exit Junction 33 on the M4 and follow the A4232. Take the first exit off the A4232 at Culverhouse Cross and follow the signs to the airport along the A4050 and A4226. From the North, take the M5 down to Junction 15 and then take the M4 across the Severn Bridge, to Junction 33.

BY RAIL
First Great WesternCardiff is well served by the UK rail network; the main station is Cardiff Central, with Cardiff Queen Street serving the shopping area. Over eleven million passengers pass through these two stations every year.

There is a regular train service from London Paddington (journey time approximately two hours) as well as Birmingham and the rest of the UK. Services out of Paddington are run by First Great Western.

Arriva Trains Wales operates train services connecting the city centre to all other stations in Cardiff as well as the South Wales Valleys, Cardiff Bay and Cardiff Wales Airport. There are more details at the Arriva website.

BY BUS
Cardiff BusesCardiff has an extensive bus service covering Wales, the West Country and the rest of the UK. The hub of the service is Cardiff Bus Station, adjacent to Cardiff Central railway station. Local services are run by Cardiff Bus. It is also easy to reach Cardiff via the National Express national coach service. Coach services leave Victoria coach station in London at regular intervals.
